PE Statement of Intent

At Our Lady of Compassion our Physical Education program is designed to promote the overall development of the whole child. We believe that physical activity is an essential component of a well-rounded education and plays a crucial role in developing healthy bodies, minds, and spirits. Through our lessons, students will develop their physical skills, build their confidence, and learn the importance of leading an active lifestyle.

Our PE program encourages students to participate in a variety of physical activities, from team sports to individual challenges, and promotes a competitive, positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. Our qualified and experienced teachers provide students with the guidance and support they need to develop their skills and reach their full potential.

In addition to promoting physical health and wellness, our PE program also helps students develop our school games values: passion, self-belief, respect, honesty, determination and teamwork in all elements of physical education and physical activity.

We place a strong emphasis on competition during physical education (PE) classes. We believe that competition can drive students to push themselves to their limits, increase their physical abilities and build their teamwork skills. Our PE curriculum includes a variety of sports and games that are designed to be challenging and encourage competition towards a pupils personal best and among classmates. We also regularly host school-wide tournaments and events where students can showcase their skills and compete against one another.

At Our Lady of Compassion, we are dedicated to developing the whole child and believe that our Physical Education program plays a crucial role in achieving this goal. By providing students with a supportive and inclusive learning environment, we strive to create a generation of confident, healthy, and well-rounded individuals.
